Seville is a city to be discovered little by little, and at Holos Boutique Hotel we will recommend the must see sights. Nevertheless, guests should begin with the Heliopolis neighbourhood, a place not very well known by the Sevillians themselves.
Heliopolis is one of the most historic residential neighbourhoods in Seville. The first houses of the neighbourhood were built in 1927 as a result of the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. More than 390 chalets were built to house a maximum of 5,000 residents. In this initial phase, the objective was to cover the accommodation for the technicians and visitors to this important international event.
On a walk through the neighbourhood you can quietly appreciate a nice sampling of typical Andalusian architecture. This building trend is characterized by the rejection of modern forms and a return to the traditional architecture style. Therefore, it shows a marked influence of architectural reproductions from the past, such as the Mudejar style. Something that can be seen in the shape of the windows and in the presence of terraces.
Another curious aspect of the Heliopolis neighbourhood is that its name literally means “City of the Sun” in Greek. Without a doubt, it is an excellent place to enjoy the sun and the climate of the city on a relaxing stroll or during your stay in Seville.
Heliópolis is the place where our charming hotel is located in Seville, in a house typical of the neighbourhood, with an innovative design.
